Dr. Lektroluv goes fashion!

Tilburg had been waiting for the arrival of Belgians most respected elektro DJ Dr. Lektroluv after the guerilla announcement (see post before) last week.
Place to be: Club 013, Tilburg, The Netherlands.

And there he was, appearing in his new outfit...

...a fancy silver (disco?) jacket!

+ suported by Dancers à la Daft Punk (remember those robot chicks with motor helmets in 'Around The World'?)

+ the well-spread "Lektrolights", present all over town and in the club. (ps: my lektrolight is still blinking, even after 3 days!)

Lektroluv ended the show with "My Moon, My Man" - Feist (Boys Noize RMX)

Enjoy! And get your infection now!

Dr. Lektroluv spreads the virus!

Last Saturday around 11pm, an enormous B-Live track invaded Tilburg, at least 20 white men in suits and gas masks jumped out. It were Dr. Lektroluv's servants taking over the town, infecting everyone with green fluorescent lights and impressive elektro beats.

The Dr. himself wil arrive on Saturday 27/11 , showing off a new suit and serving the new recruits bitchin' elektro music all night long! Get infected now!

Line-up: Dr. Lektroluv, Anthony Rother, Thomas Laurén, Déjanu Soundsytem, Mark August, The Subs, Nicolas di Felice

Soulwax Secret Release Party, Ghent

Yesterday night, Soulwax played a mixset in front of only a few friends, some media folks and contest winners. Not much of a crowd in an unusual location (ICC Ghent) that looked more like a high school lunch hall.

The Dewaele brothers stand for quality mashups & creative setlists, and that's what they served us.

The down-to-earth sons of Zaki (present as well), played at least 3 Justice records (incl. Phantom II :-), one SebastiAn track, a Goose(present) remix, and of course loads of Soulwax remixes, from Gravity's Rainbow (Klaxons) over Kylie Minogue & Sugarbabes. A must-have album for every party DJ!

It's not much, but here they are: Soulwax @ the release party
(sorry for poor sound quality, put the volume down!)

PS: We spotted Linda from Milk Inc too. And yes baby, she can fill a Sportpaleis with air & balloons, but you don't fool these guys. Wrong place, wrong time, maybe?
Hey, I thought the TMF Awards were last week? [grin]

The Police / Roxanne / Soulwax & Friends

So...The Police played in Belgium. And I bought a ticket...and sold it (same price) a few days before the concert. (something like 83 € I believe).

Expensive? Hell yeah...these guys didn't even play "Roxanne"!

Luckily there is Justice (the chinese and the moustache) to keep hope alive.

Remember?

And why am I bringing you this?
Well, tomorrow, tuesday 16/10 Soulwax will be playing as 2ManyDJs somewhere in Ghent "with friends"...secret release party, etc.
My question is...who are 'the friends'?

Justice? Erol Alkan? Tiga? Zaki? I'll let you know... :-)

...and then there is Ableton Live 7!

Hi all,

You might have noticed, it's a bit quiet here @ Phantom by Night, but...that's just due to some technical probs with the mixing software (and busy agenda lately). The good news is...I'll be playing soon with the official Ableton Live 6...and update to #7 (release date: end 2007). It's a bit $$$, but hey this software is more than worth it.

Download version: EUR 419/USD 499

Ableton Live 7

Boxed version, includes the Essential Instrument Collection 2 (EIC 2): EUR 499/USD 599
(unless you can fix educational discount...thanks to my man Christophe ;-)

And if you think you'd better wait till end '07, then...don't waste your time:
"All users who unlock their Live 6 or Live 6 Upgrade between October 1, 2007 and January 31, 2008 will get a free download upgrade to Ableton Live 7, plus attractive instrument bundle offers at release date."
(official info for Ableton)

Daft Punk "Alive" 2007

Good news...Daft Punk finally releases a live CD of the 2007 Tour.

But being present at Pukkelpop 2006, I'm not sure how "live" this show was, nevertheless we had a party! Although I'd rather have a Daft Punk-DVD with sneaky video footage behind the decks :-) (yes, to watch and learn :-)

(check this nice footage of the Osaka Show - if the album sounds like that...)

The "Alive 2007" album was recorded at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy, in front of 18,000 Frenchies on June 14th, 2007.
